Dietmar Austrup leads Egon Zehnder’s office in Cologne and the Insurance segment. He is member of the CEO & Board Advisory and Financial Services Practices. In addition to executive search for regional and global companies, he provides advice on leadership development, team and board effectiveness, and CEO succession.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Dietmar was at the Gerling Insurance Group, where he led major change initiatives as the global Director of Human Resources after being in charge of various strategic projects. He originally joined Gerling as an Assistant to the Management Board. Earlier in his career, Dietmar was a Frankfurt-based Consultant at KPMG.

Dietmar earned an MA in business administration from the European School of Business in Reutlingen and London, and also completed the Senior Executive Program of the London Business School. Outside of work, he is passionate about his family and friends and loves playing sports of all kinds.

Neben der Besetzung von Führungspositionen im In- und Ausland evaluiert er seit vielen Jahren Spitzenkräfte und unterstützt Unternehmen dabei, ihr Führungspersonal zu entwickeln sowie die Effizienz von Teams zu verbessern. Dietmar Austrup berät Klienten außerdem bei der Besetzung von Positionen in Aufsichts- und Beiräten sowie bei der Verbesserung der Arbeit dieser Gremien. Ein weiteres Spezialgebiet ist die Lösung von Nachfolgefragen an der Firmenspitze.

Seine Karriere begann Dietmar Austrup bei KPMG Management Consulting in Frankfurt. Dort beriet er vor allem Klienten aus dem Finanzsektor. Später wechselte er nach Köln zur Gerling-Versicherungsgruppe, bei der er zehn Jahre lang verschiedene Führungsfunktionen bekleidete. So war er zunächst als Assistent des Vorstandes tätig und leitete Strategieprojekte, bevor er in den HR-Bereich von Gerling wechselte und schließlich die Gesamtleitung des Personalressorts übernahm. In dieser Funktion verantwortete er auch weitreichende Veränderungsprojekte.

Dietmar Austrup erwarb sein Diplom an der European School of Business (ESB) in Reutlingen und London. Zudem absolvierte er an der London Business School das Senior Executive Programme (SEP).
