FAZ – “Today’s Managers are Looking for Meaningful Challenges”

Corporate structures are too rigid and there is a lack of individual support, according to a global survey of 1,300 managers by Egon Zehnder International. Citing the survey results, the German daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reports that a growing number of managers are unhappy with their working conditions. Michael Ensser, head of Egon Zehnder Germany, says that companies rely too heavily on superficial incentives like money, company cars and promotions; and neglect more intrinsic drivers. “Today’s managers are increasingly looking for meaningful challenges. Modern talent management supports this search, but remains the exception rather than the rule,” explains Ensser.
