This first issue of Experts published by the Legal Professionals Practice of Egon Zehnder International is entitled The Compliance Challenge.

Thanks to the Practice’s increasing involvement in identifying and selecting Chief Compliance Officers, the Legal Professional Practice has become aware of how companies contend – some successfully, others less so – with the need for compliance and the organization of their compliance department.

The theme of compliance is approached from three angles: firstly an interview with Steven S. Reinemund, Chairman and (recently retired) CEO of PepsiCo, Inc. presents his views on compliance and the role he envisages for his General Counsel. Secondly, five General Counsels from a wide range of industries and countries are requested to answer 3 questions on compliance. Finally, an expert analysis by Joost Maes provides some thoughts and insights into compliance based on the Practice’s own experience and encounters.
