Are marketing and R&D two different worlds and can the chemical industry learn from the consumer industry? These were two of the major questions discussed at the
Chemical Forum hosted by Egon Zehnder International on 5 November 2009 in Frankfurt, Germany. Guest speakers at the Forum were
Mauricio Graber, President Flavour Division, Givaudan Schweiz SA, and
Hans P. Vriens, Chief Innovation Officer, Barry Callebaut AG. Discussions at the Forum covered a range of issues including whether the chemical industry should hire marketing talent from the consumer sector and geographically de-centralizing Research and/or Development. The event was attended by 24 senior executives from the chemical industry and a number of consultants from Egon Zehnder International including

Peter Flückiger.
