Demand for directors with HR expertise rises

Demand for board members with human resources expertise is growing, especially at Swiss banks, warns Philippe Hertig, head of Egon Zehnder International's Zurich office, in the Aargauer Zeitung. The reasons for this emerging trend are clear, reports the newspaper. Good people with functional expertise are already rare in some areas and demographic trends look set to make this shortage even more acute. Attracting and retaining top talent is therefore expected to become a key competitive advantage in the future, explain recruitment experts. “The importance of strategically developing and recruiting leaders should continue to grow,” says Hertig. “People are slowly coming to recognise that unprofessional HR management represents unnecessary value destruction,” he concludes. |
