Financial services firms spend billions on bonuses

Despite the global financial crisis, U.S. financial services firms are still planning to pay out billions in bonuses this year to retain top talent, report Bloomberg / The International Herald Tribune. Although some companies are reducing year-end rewards, most top employees should see no drop in their compensation, as companies bid to ensure their continued loyalty, claim experts. “Critical producers and critical managers will be retained with the same bonus they had last year,” predicts Robert Sloan, a consultant at Egon Zehnder International, New York.
