Talent management tactics for SMEs and MNCs

Although small, medium and multinational companies may encounter different challenges when managing talent, they may be able to learn from each other’s experiences, claimed panel members at the Singapore Human Capital Summit seminar in the Business Times Singapore. The results of a recent Asia-wide survey of some 10,000 firms revealed that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) often struggle to attract talent, while multinational corporations (MNCs) need to improve their talent retention. Indeed, some MNCs in Asia are even losing talent to local companies, warned Davy Lau, a consultant at Egon Zehnder International, Singapore and panel member. This may be because leaders at smaller firms are better at communicating their talent value proposition, explained a fellow panel member.
