Egon Zehnder International co-hosts Sustainability Dinner Series

The future of the Chief Sustainability Officer role was the focus of discussions at the recent Sustainability Dinner Series co-hosted by Environmental Resources Management (ERM) and Egon Zehnder International. The events, which took place on 15 and 22 September at Egon Zehnder International’s New York Office, were each attended by 8-12 participants ranging from senior sustainability executives to government policy advisors. Several participants confirmed the presence of a “blocking generation of senior management” that does not deeply relate to sustainability issues many firms and agreed that changing such attitudes remains a major challenge for CSOs. There was a general consensus, however, that generational change is certain and hiring the right talent is consequently the key to future success.
