Jens Riedel, based in Berlin, focuses on financial services. He co-leads the Risk Management segment of Egon Zehnder’s global Financial Services Practice and the German Financial Services Practice. A trusted advisor in senior leadership development and an experienced executive coach, Jens conducts management appraisals and provides accelerated integration support to leaders transitioning into new roles.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Jens was a Principal with the Boston Consulting Group, where he worked mainly for clients in the banking, insurance, and reinsurance industries on projects ranging from strategy development to reorganization, as well as major organizational development projects across industries. He was also part of BCG’s Strategy Institute with a focus on long-term business trends, such as the relevance of cultural differences. Jens started his career with DaimlerBenz, where he was a member of the International Management Associate Program engaged in projects in the U.S., Germany, and China. He also served as a speechwriter for the CEO and was in a line role for passenger car sales strategy.

Jens earned an MA in economics from the University of Tübingen and also studied at SUNY-Stony Brook and at the New School for Social Research in the U.S. He earned a PhD in business administration from Technical University Berlin, where he focused on the impact of coaching on executives. Jens also holds a coaching certificate in individual psychology.

He serves on the advisory board of the Frankfurt Institute for Risk Management and Regulation, an association of German Chief Risk Officers and relevant consultants dedicated to improving risk management practices in Germany.

Jens Riedel konzentriert sich auf die Finanzbranche und ist Co-Leiter der deutschen Praxisgruppe Financial Services sowie des Segments Risk Management der globalen Praxisgruppe Financial Services von Egon Zehnder. Als erfahrener Führungskräftecoach berät er Unternehmen bei der Besetzung von Führungspositionen, führt Management Appraisals durch und begleitet Manager während der Übergangsphase in neue Führungsrollen.

Vor seinem Wechsel zu Egon Zehnder beriet Jens Riedel als Principal der Boston Consulting Group Banken, Versicherungen und Rückversicherungen in Strategie- und Umstrukturierungsfragen und engagierte sich branchenübergreifend in Projekten zur Organisationsentwicklung. Als Mitglied des BCG Strategy Institute beschäftigte er sich mit langfristigen Tendenzen wie etwa der Bedeutung von kulturellen Unterschieden. Seine berufliche Laufbahn begann Jens Riedel bei Daimler Benz, wo er als Mitglied des International Management Associate Program bei Projekteinsätzen in den USA, Deutschland und China, als Redenschreiber des Vorstandsvorsitzenden und im Rahmen der Vertriebsstrategie PKW tätig war.

Jens Riedel hat Politikwissenschaften, Volkswirtschaftslehre und Philosophie an den Universitäten Tübingen, SUNY-Stony Brook und der New School for Social Research in den Vereinigten Staaten studiert. Er schloss sein Studium mit einem Diplom in Volkswirtschaftslehre an der Universität Tübingen ab und promovierte zum Thema Coaching von Führungskräften an der TU Berlin. Jens Riedel hat zudem ein Coaching-Zertifikat als Individualpsychologischer Berater erworben. Er ist Mitglied im Beirat des Frankfurter Instituts für Risikomanagement und Regulierung, einer Vereinigung deutscher Chief Risk Officer und renommierter Berater zur Verbesserung der Risikomanagement-Praxis in Deutschland.
