Rahul Rana

Rahul Rana, based in New Delhi, leads Egon Zehnder’s Financial Services Practice in India and is a core member of the Fintech practice in Asia. He provides executive search, board advisory, talent assessment, and leadership development with a particular focus on Banking, Insurance, FinTech and consumer-tech businesses. Rahul is also active in other areas of the firm’s Financial Services Practice, including the Wholesale Banking, Asset Management, and Private Capital practices.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Rahul was the CEO and Managing Director of PAYBACK India. His previous roles include that of Chief Financial Officer at American Express Banking Corp. in India, where he worked on growth, profitability, and long-term strategy, including corporate development and M&A for the APAC region. Before that, Rahul was the Director of Strategic Projects for various American Express businesses in the United States and Europe. Earlier in his career, he held planning and business development positions at ICICI Bank and GE Consumer Finance in India.

Rahul earned a BA (with honors) in Economics from Hindu College of the University of Delhi and an MBA from the Symbiosis Centre for Management, in Pune. Outside of work, he loves- trekking and mountaineering, and cheering on the Chelsea Football Club. Rahul also does mentoring work for start-ups and a bit of angel investing on the side.
