Career-building: is going back a good move?

When is going back to your former company a wise move, asks the Harvard Business Review? Based on a fictional case study, the journal asks management consultants for their views. A big salary and an impressive title are not good reasons for making any career move, notes Claudio Fernández-Aráoz, Senior Adviser at Egon Zehnder International and author of Great People Decisions. In fact, research shows that the best job decisions - measured by satisfaction, stability, income and success - come from adopting a proactive and well thought-out approach to career building, not jumping at any offer that comes along, comments Fernández-Aráoz in his response to the case study.
