Sustainability and human capital WNSR
Sustainability is no longer a corporate luxury, says Christoph Lueneburger, a consultant at Egon Zehnder International, New York. Indeed, the recent years have seen the: "emergence of a much more pragmatic and commercial approach to how to make sustainability thread into the overall strategy of companies," notes Lueneberger. In his experience, this often involves a culture change, which, in turn, depends on the caliber of the talent that a company can attract. Companies with sustainability at the core of their business tend to attract the very top performers, who emotionally engage with the firm's ethos, often commit for the long term and are often willing to accept lower compensation packages than they are offered elsewhere. This major human capital advantage adds significant value to the company's brand, concludes Lueneberger.
