Talent management: adopting the right approach
BusinessWeek

As the economy starts to recover, corporate success depends on adopting the right approach to executive talent management, reports BusinessWeek. Claudio Fernández-Aráoz, a senior adviser at Egon Zehnder International and the author of Great People Decisions, supports this view. "Companies need to beef up their ability to attract great leaders," warns Fernández-Aráoz, citing demographic evidence that the number of managers in the right age group for leadership roles is set to drop 30 percent over the next 6 years. “While over the long run companies should focus on becoming more attractive by developing the type of culture, environment, and team that outstanding executives want to join, they also need to immediately focus on winning the coming fight for executive talent one leader at a time," Fernández-Aráoz concludes.
