Egon Zehnder International supports FT 2011 Women at the Top ranking
Outstanding female business leadership is the focus of Women at the Top, an annual ranking of the world's top 50 women leaders published by the Financial Times. The ranking features leaders selected by an expert jury based on information largely provided by Egon Zehnder International. Damien O’Brien, Chairman and CEO of Egon Zehnder International, one of the jury members, noted that, "The real issue is how to get more women into big business leadership roles. The whole debate about quotas is just distracting us from the real question." O'Brien believes that, "More transparent talent management systems will help women. Sponsorship helps, but cannot be the only way to advance." One of Egon Zehnder International's goals is to help women understand their leadership potential, O'Brien added. More than 160 global thought-leaders and decision-makers attended a conference held in Shanghai prior to the release of the 2011 ranking which celebrated the growing contribution made by women in the public and private sectors worldwide.
