Govind Iyer, based in Mumbai, leads Egon Zehnder’s Private Equity Practice in Asia and is active in the firm’s Industrial Practice, Technology and Communications Practice, Board Consulting, CEO Succession and Family Business Advisory. He is a trusted advisor in building family business leadership teams, and maximizes private equity investments through deep engagement with portfolio companies. Govind also supports boards in CEO succession, improving board effectiveness, and recruiting non-executive directors.
Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Govind was Vice President Marketing with Heinz India. Previous roles include Senior Manager, Key Accounts, Coca-Cola India and brand management assignments with Procter & Gamble in Mumbai and Sydney.
Govind serves on the Wharton Executive Education Advisory Board and is an active University of Pennsylvania alumnus. He is also a founding board member of Social Venture Partners in India, and serves on the Advisory Board at Asian Venture Philanthropic Network (AVPN), a philanthropic organization focused on deep engagement with non-profits.
Govind earned a Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Madras (Regional Engineering College, Trichy), and an MBA with a focus on Marketing at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, in the US.
