Hans Horn possesses deep experience across the international financial services sector and is a trusted advisor to key executives in this industry. He serves international banks, insurance companies, asset managers and pension funds, as well as companies in the private equity and real estate sectors with executive and nonexecutive searches, CEO succession, management assessments and talent management. He is also an active member of the firm’s Board Consulting and CEO practices. Hans is particularly passionate about the evolving aspects of corporate governance and improving cooperation between the public and private sectors. He facilitated the Dutch Board Academy and is on the faculty of training programs for Egon Zehnder consultants. In the past, Hans was the Amsterdam Office Leader for more than eight years and Co-Leader of Egon Zehnder’s global Financial Services practice for more than three years.

I believe that people deserve better leadership, and work to see that they get it by helping to put the right leaders in the right roles and continuously supporting their growth as professionals and individuals.

Hans’ last position before joining Egon Zehnder was Managing Director for Sales at Citibank with commercial responsibility for its transaction banking business, first in North America and later globally. Prior to that, he ran the bank’s corporate and investment banking business for consumer and pharma companies from New York before becoming the Chief of Staff for the bank’s board and its Vice Chairman. He had joined Citibank’s Zurich branch to work for its Financial Institutions and World Corporate groups. He started his career with Exxon in South Africa as an economist.

Hans earned a BA and an MA in economics from Groningen University in the Netherlands and graduated from the Stanford Executive Program of the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is a long-standing and active member of the Dutch-American Chamber of Commerce and leads its nomination committee. Outside of work, his many passions include friends, family, sports, music, international relations and especially languages.
