John Lowry Egon Zehnder, Chicago
John Lowry, based in Chicago, is an executive recruitment and board search consultant in Egon Zehnder’s Industrial Practice, with over 15 years of experience in the industrial sector and deep leadership credentials. John serves as a trusted partner across executive search, board succession, leadership assessment & development and leads the Firm's US Supply Chain practice.
Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, John served as the Chief Operating Officer of Allied Recreation Group, an integrated recreational vehicle company producing the Fleetwood, American Coach, Monaco and Holiday Rambler product lines. Previously, John was a key leader of Harley-Davidson’s manufacturing transformation, serving on the company’s Senior Leadership Group while leading manufacturing operations in both Kansas City and the Milwaukee area. John began his career as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps. He spent more than 15 years on active duty and another 10 years in the Marine Corps Reserve, retiring with the rank of colonel.
John serves as Vice Chairman of the Marine Corps Association and Foundation, which for more than a century has advanced leadership and recognized excellence within the United States Marine Corps. The MCA&F publishes the professional journal of the U.S. Marine Corps and sponsors a number of programs to develop, educate and recognize leaders.
John earned an AB from Princeton University, Master’s degrees from both Stanford University and the US Army War College, and a MBA from Harvard Business School. His fellowships include an International Affairs Fellowship at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York.
