Jorge Mascarenhas Egon Zehnder, London
Jorge Mascarenhas, who is based in London, serves clients as a full member of Egon Zehnder’s Telecoms Practice. Bringing a unique combination of insight and expertise to the table, he draws on extensive industry experience gained in fields ranging from M&A and strategy across consumer marketing to customer experience. Jorge is especially passionate about all facets of the customer and employee experience, including the ways in which top-level management and corporate culture affect firms’ ability to innovate and thrive by coming up with great products and propositions. Since he has also spent time at a family-run business, the impact of leadership and board dynamics on the culture and performance of small and family enterprises is another theme close to his heart.
Before joining Egon Zehnder, Jorge spent several years as Head of Customer Experience at O2 – Telefonica UK in London. That was preceded by a stint at the Amsterdam office of the Norwegian hydropower company Statkraft. Prior to that, he served as Executive Director at Climex in Lisbon.
Jorge is an active blogger and public speaker on issues related to the customer experience, focusing on the roles of leadership and culture in transforming employee sentiment and customer engagement. He speaks fluent Portuguese, English and Spanish.
Jorge earned a BA in Economics at the prestigious Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon and an MSc in Finance from the Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL) before going on to complete an MBA at the University of Cambridge.
