Hilke De Smedt, based in Amsterdam, is part of Egon Zehnder’s Private Equity Practice, a founding member of the firm’s Financial Tech Practice, and also very active in the global Technology and Communications and Financial Services practices. She conducts both executive and board search and is actively involved in senior leadership assessment and development projects.
I’m curious to learn about the complexities, challenges, and opportunities unique to each company and executive. I always want to go beneath the surface of things to understand the truth and reality of each situation.
Before joining Egon Zehnder, Hilke was a Vice President of Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners’ private equity business in London. That was preceded by work in the Swiss and London offices of Partners Group, a global private-market assets manager. Hilke began her career as a Consulting Associate at Cambridge Associates, where she gave portfolio investment advice to some of the world’s largest institutional investors.
Hilke earned a BA in mathematics from Dartmouth College and an MBA from INSEAD. In her free time, she devotes herself to her husband and twin sons, loves skiing, kitesurfing and other outdoor sports, and tries to lead a healthy, sustainable life.
