Berthold is an insightful and perspicacious personal advisor to senior management and boards in the financial services industry, directing senior executive search and succession planning for national and international financial services institutions. He also frequently conducts searches for CFOs and their related functions. Drawing on more than 20 years of advisory experience in boardrooms, Berthold works closely with CEOs and boards on leadership assessment and development strategies to build world-class senior executive teams. He also provides expert counsel to boards on succession planning and the recruitment of chairpersons and nonexecutive directors, and has extensive experience in board composition and diversity strategies. As a certified leadership coach, Berthold additionally provides accelerated integration support to leaders transitioning into new roles.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, Berthold was a Berlin-based Engagement Manager with McKinsey & Company, providing strategy advice to financial services clients across retail banking, CRM, multichannel sales, marketing, and product development. Previously he was a Research Fellow at Cambridge University’s Centre for Business Research.

Berthold earned undergraduate degrees in economics and philosophy from the University of Freiburg as well as a Maîtrise, DEA, and PhD in economics from the University of Toulouse in France. Outside of work, Berthold enjoys theatre and dance performances, reading literature, flying (he has a private pilot license), sailing, and various other sports.

Berthold Leube berät seit mehr als 20 Jahren Aufsichtsräte und Vorstände in der Banken- und Finanzdienstleistungsbranche bei der Besetzung von Führungspositionen. Er unterstützt Klienten zudem bei der Besetzung von Positionen im Aufsichtsrat sowie bei der Weiterentwicklung dieser Gremien. Ein besonderer Fokus seiner Arbeit liegt ebenfalls in der Beratung von Organisationen in breiter angelegten Leadership-Advisory-Projekten sowie in Fragen des Talent- und Diversity-Managements. Als zertifizierter Leadership Coach begleitet Berthold Leube regelmäßig Manager beim Start in neue Führungsrollen.

Vor seinem Wechsel zu Egon Zehnder war Berthold Leube Engagement Manager im Berliner Büro von McKinsey & Company, wo er deutsche und internationale Finanzdienstleister in Strategiefragen, insbesondere mit Schwerpunkt Privatkundengeschäft, beriet. Im Rahmen dieser Tätigkeit erwarb er besondere Kompetenzen in den Bereichen Customer Relations Management, Multi-Channel Sales, Marketing und Produktentwicklung. Zuvor beschäftigte sich Berthold Leube als Research Fellow am Centre for Business Research an der University of Cambridge mit der Finanzierung von Kleinunternehmen in Frankreich, Deutschland und Großbritannien.

Berthold Leube schloss sein Studium der Volkswirtschaft mit einer Maîtrise und später mit dem postgraduierten Diplôme d’études approfondies (DEA) und einer Promotion an der Université des Sciences Sociales im französischen Toulouse ab. Er ist Beirat des Vereins Leadership Berlin, der Führungspersönlichkeiten aus dem öffentlichen, privaten und gemeinnützigen Bereich vernetzt.​
