Ian Bolin, based in Atlanta, leads Egon Zehnder’s North American Automotive and Mobility Practice. He is a trusted advisor to clients across the globe with a special focus on industrial, automotive, and private equity companies. He has a special passion for working with industry disrupters and draws on 15+ years of automotive experience to conduct executive and board searches, CEO succession planning, management assessments and bespoke consulting.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, Ian was the Chief Transformation Officer at Infiniti Motor Company in Hong Kong, where he helped establish its new global headquarters and management structure. Prior to that, Ian was with the Volkswagen Group, primarily with the Audi brand. While there, he charted a strategy for the United States, held multiple operational and retail roles, worked at the HQ in Germany and oversaw a successful turnaround in South Africa. Ian began his career with Rolls-Royce & Bentley Motorcars in the United States.
Ian was born and raised in the Midwest. He earned a BS in International Business, Marketing, and German from Marquette University and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management (Arizona State). He is an alumnus of the U.S. State Department-sponsored Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) for Young Professionals program and speaks fluent German. Ian is a proud husband, father of two bilingual children and an avid sports car fan.
