Ian Bolin, based in Atlanta, leads Egon Zehnder’s Global Automotive and Mobility Practice. He is a trusted advisor to clients across the globe and has a special passion for working with industry disrupters. Ian draws on 15+ years of automotive industry experience to conduct executive and board searches, CEO succession planning, management assessments and bespoke consulting.

Every day I have the opportunity to learn from and work with some of the world’s great leaders. It’s rewarding to see how our work positively impacts people’s lives and careers.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, Ian was the Chief Transformation Officer at Infiniti Motor Company in Hong Kong. Prior to his time in Asia, Ian was with the Volkswagen Group, primarily with the Audi brand. While there, he charted a strategy for the United States, held multiple operational and retail roles in the field, worked at the HQ in Germany and oversaw a successful turnaround in South Africa. Ian started his career with Rolls-Royce & Bentley Motorcars in the US.

Ian was born and raised in the Midwest. He earned a BS in International Business, Marketing, and German from Marquette University and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management (Arizona State). He is an alumnus of the U.S. State Department-sponsored Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) for Young Professionals program and speaks fluent German. Ian is a proud husband, father of two bilingual children and an avid sports car fan.
