Edilson Camara is Egon Zehnder’s Global Chief Executive Officer and a core member of the firm’s Industrial practice. Based in Miami and Toronto, he has been CEO since 2018 and has served on the firm’s Executive Committee since 2008. Prior to this, he served as Managing Partner in both Canada and in Brazil. Ed is a sough-after advisor to leading firms on critical talent issues as they adapt and transform amidst rapid changes in the global industrial sector. With deep expertise in capital-intensive sectors, such as mining, metals, building materials and energy, Ed advises board members and C-level executives at some of the largest global mining companies. He is also a trusted advisor to many family-owned businesses.

I feel privileged to help clients succeed, deploying my sector expertise and judgment on senior leadership issues, honed by over two decades at Egon Zehnder.

In addition to consulting on executive search and recruitment, he has personally appraised over 1,200 senior executives in client organizations worldwide, recommending development actions, organizational design changes, and other senior talent management and transformation initiatives.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, Ed held various roles at Holcim Group, a leading cement and building materials group, serving as strategic planning manager, treasurer, and assistant to the CEO. At Holcim, Ed led corporate functions across Latin America, including strategic planning, finance, and marketing, while being based in São Paulo, Brazil and Céligny, Switzerland. Ed began his career as a business analyst at Exxon Chemical Company in Brazil and subsequently served in a range of corporate and client facing responsibilities in Exxon’s downstream operations.

Ed earned a BSc in Economics from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and an MBA from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland. In his private life, he enjoys listening to and playing rock music and is keenly interested in geopolitics and development economics. He and his wife have two adult children.
