Ed Camara is CEO Emeritus and a core member of the Industrial Practice. He served the allowed two terms as Egon Zehnder’s global CEO and previously was in the Executive Committee for 10 years. Prior to this, he served as Managing Partner in Canada and in Brazil. Ed is a sought-after advisor to Boards and CEOs in the global industrial sector, with deep expertise in capital-intensive sectors such as mining, metals, building materials and energy.

In addition to consulting on executive search and recruitment, he has personally appraised over 1,200 senior executives in client organizations worldwide, recommending development actions, organizational design changes, and other senior talent management and transformation initiatives.
Before joining Egon Zehnder, Ed held various roles at Holcim in strategic planning, treasury, and as assistant to the CEO. He began his career at Exxon where he served in a range of corporate and client facing responsibilities in Exxon’s chemicals and downstream operations.
Ed has a BSc in Economics from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and an MBA from IMD in Switzerland. He is passionate about music and keenly interested in geopolitics. He and his wife have two adult children. Ed is an independent board member at Cleveland Cliffs (NYSE: CLE), where he is the Chair of the Compensation and Organization Committee.
