Based in Tokyo, Shinji Ioka is active in Egon Zehnder’s Industrial Practice and Technology Practice. He is especially active in the automotive, semiconductor, renewable energy and construction industries and focuses on serving clients with global management appraisals and leadership development, CEO succession planning, and executive and board search.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Shinji worked for Koki Holdings (formerly Hitachi Koki), first as the Chief Director of Product Management for Japan and then as that company’s Deputy General Manager of Global Product Management. Before that he was with the Hilti Group, advancing from the role of product manager to Global Product Manager based in Liechtenstein and then Head of Product Management in Japan. Shinji launched his career at Toyota, where he rose from the position of purchasing specialist to Purchasing Coordinator in Belgium before returning to Japan to work as a Senior Purchasing Specialist.
Shinji completed an undergraduate degree in Japanese intercultural studies at the University of Tokyo and then earned an MBA from INSEAD while also attending the Wharton School as an exchange student. He has supported the Toyota Municipal Museum and the Tokyo Deafblind Group as a volunteer. Outside work, Shinji is a devoted husband and father to his two children.

大学卒業後、トヨタ自動車に入社。調達部門にて日本およびベルギーで調達、SCM関連のプロジェクトに従事。MBA留学を経た後、Hilti Corporationに入社。プロダクトマネジメント分野で日本およびリヒテンシュタイン本社にて勤務。その後KKR傘下の工機ホールディングス株式会社(旧日立工機)に入社し、副本部長として製品開発部門にて社内変革、組織再編などを推進。
