Based in Chicago, Karl Alleman is a member of Egon Zehnder’s Global Executive Committee and recently led the firm’s US Practice. With broad expertise spanning sectors from automotive and consumer durables to chemicals and packaging, he led the creation and launch of the firm’s Industrial Practice in North America and is also active in its CEO, Board Consulting, and Leadership Advisory practices. Karl has a long track record of helping global multinationals, private equity firms, and family-owned enterprises solve their most difficult leadership challenges, focusing on C-suite and board searches as well as CEO succession.

Helping clients solve their senior leadership challenges has never been more important than it is today, as technological change and globalization continue to accelerate.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Karl was the President and CEO of a private-equity-owned capital equipment manufacturer, preceded by the role of Director of Strategy and BU General Manager at Amoco Retail Marketing. Earlier he served as a Senior Engagement Manager with McKinsey, after beginning his career at Merck as a Production Engineer.

Karl earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children around Chicago and on the lakes of Wisconsin’s North Woods.
