Gizem Weggemans, based in London, leads Egon Zehnder’s HR Officers Practice globally. Beyond her functional expertise, she also focuses on succession projects at the CEO, Executive Committee and the Board level across the Consumer, Consumer Health, Hospitality/Travel and Services space. A passionate development advisor, Gizem works with individual leaders as well as leadership teams to help them realize their potential.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, Gizem was a Senior Director at the Corporate Executive Board and advised CEOs, CFOs, HR directors and chief strategy officers of Fortune 500 and middle-market companies. Previously, she worked as a Management Consultant with A.T. Kearney’s Global Business Policy Council, leading private- and public-sector assignments in the U.S., Europe, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East while also managing the organization’s CEO retreats around the world. Her career began as a Research Analyst with the Overseas Development Council and she was later a Consultant with the World Bank in the office of the Chief Economist of the International Finance Corporation.
Gizem has an MA in international economics and European studies from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University and an MBAe from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She holds a BA in international relations and a BA in German language and literature, both from Tufts University. Gizem is a member of Chatham House and the European Association of Communications Directors.
