Julie Chen, based in New York, is an active member of Egon Zehnder’s Executive Assessment and Development Practice. She draws on extensive experience at top management consulting and leadership advisory firms to advise boards, CEOs, and executive teams on C-suite succession planning, executive talent management, leadership assessment and development, board effectiveness, and organizational change.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Julie served as Director of Consulting Services and Analytics at Nadler Advisory Services, where she consulted to boards, CEOs, and senior teams on issues related to executive leadership, corporate governance, and organization performance. Previous roles include Principal Consultant at Oliver Wyman, where her work covered a range of areas related to board, leadership, and organizational effectiveness, and Senior Associate in Mercer’s Organizational Research and Effectiveness group, where she provided a full spectrum of consulting on organizational assessments, including culture and employee engagement.
Julie earned a BA in psychology from the University of California at Berkeley, then an MA and a PhD in industrial/organizational psychology from New York University. She is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the American Psychological Association. Julie has published articles in NACD Directorship: Boardroom Intelligence, People and Strategy, the Journal of Applied Psychology and the Human Resource Management Review. In addition, she has presented her work to the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the Academy of Management. She and her husband have two young sons and enjoy taking advantage of everything that Manhattan has to offer. Julie does volunteer work for her sons’ schools and practices yoga.
