Karena Strella led the design of Egon Zehnder’s model for assessing leadership potential and has deep expertise in talent management and CEO succession. Based in San Francisco, she advises clients on product innovation, customer service, and operations. She is active in Egon Zehnder’s Executive Assessment and Development Practice.

Everyone has potential; it’s all about potential for what. I help spark curiosity and create community and this allows my clients to leverage their strengths in pursuit of personal and professional fulfillment.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Karena developed and managed corporate venturing activities for the Permanente Company. Previously, she was a consultant with BDC Advisors and led marketing and product development endeavors at Johnson & Johnson.

Karena has a BA in psychology from Mount Holyoke College and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. She is passionate about women’s education and serves on the board of trustees for Mount Holyoke College, the oldest women’s college in the world. She also enjoys swimming, surfing, and fishing.
