Unlocking Transformations
The idea that HR leaders need to be strategic business partners rather than just managing personnel is almost twenty years old. But how much progress has been made in transforming the role to date? In a Harvard Business Manager article offering a German perspective on this issue with insights from top executives and academics, Egon Zehnder consultant Jörg Ritter stresses the need for a totally “new HR”. In an age of digital innovation, writes Ritter, HR leaders face the same challenges as CEOs: they need to “rethink, grow more agile and actively support the disruption process.” For Ritter, these challenges include promoting a culture of innovation, detecting emerging trends, mastering digital networks, excelling in analytics, improving accountability and tracking down digital talent.
