Grant Clayton leads Egon Zehnder’s U.S. Technology Practice and formerly led the Firm’s CFO and Audit Chair practice in the U.S. He was the Managing Partner of the Atlanta office for nearly ten years. Drawing on his extensive experience in executive search and talent management, Grant specializes in placing CFOs and financial leaders with organizations ranging from Fortune 50 companies to small private-equity-backed businesses. He also advises clients on filling a variety of board and C-level positions.

The strength of Grant’s partnerships and connections comes from years of global experience in numerous industries. Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Grant served as a partner and member of the investment committee of CHB Capital Partners, a private equity firm specializing in investments in middle-market technology, manufacturing, and service businesses. Earlier in his career, Grant was a Consultant at McKinsey & Company, based in Atlanta and Johannesburg. At McKinsey, he focused on strategy, operations improvement, and business development initiatives. Grant also worked at CS First Boston in Los Angeles, analyzing and structuring private and public security transactions, divestitures, and mergers and acquisitions.
Grant earned a BA, summa cum laude, from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He has served on the Board of Directors of a number of companies, including CanGen, CT Systems, Valent Aerostructures and HiRel Systems. When not at work, Grant can usually be found at a swim meet, soccer game, or lacrosse practice with his wife and three children.
