Sophia Gregory, based in Palo Alto, is a consultant at Egon Zehnder’s Health Practice focusing on Life Sciences and Health Tech. She advises clients at the intersection of healthcare, science, and data/AI technologies, guided by a philosophy of empathy, curiosity, and collaboration. Sophia helps leaders and organizations tackle complex challenges by leveraging her expertise in data governance, strategy, partnerships, and talent development.

I believe strong teams are how the impossible gets done. It’s a joy to help people and teams reach beyond what they think is possible and surprise themselves by what they can accomplish.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Sophia founded and operated a boutique consulting practice advising healthcare founders and executive teams. Earlier, she was the first commercial hire at the a16z -backed startup Ciitizen (an AI, patient-mediated Real World Data & Evidence platform) and helped scale the company through acquisition by the genetics & data analytics company Invitae. At Invitae, she served as Head of Ecosystem Partnerships, managing collaborations across academic medical centers, patient foundations, and life sciences. She began her career in finance at Bridgewater Associates as part of the Corporate Strategy team.

Sophia earned her MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and holds a BA in Economics and Biology from Bowdoin College. Outside of work, she is an active mentor of female founders and active research patient advocate. When not working, you are mostly likely to find Sophia in the Sierra Nevada mountains – either on her mountain bike, skiing in the winter or out of cell phone range backpacking in the summer.
