Steve Goodman is Egon Zehnder’s Managing Partner in Houston and also leads the North American Energy Practice. He advises clients across the energy value chain. Steve has deep expertise in CEO succession planning and board effectiveness consulting and is also active in the firm’s Executive Assessment & Development Practice.

As an advisor to boards and CEOs on their most critical leadership needs, I connect personally and professionally. I create road maps for better boards, make executive leadership teams more effective, improve culture, and develop world-class leaders.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Steve was Practice Leader of North American Energy Strategy and Technology with KPMG Consulting. Previously, he was a Partner at Andersen Business Consulting, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and strategic planning.

Steve has a BS from Brigham Young University, an MBA from Rice University, and he completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He serves on the board of directors for Harvard Business School in Houston and is Chair of the Nomination and Governance Committee. Steve is committed to the community, whether helping to organize thousands of hurricane-relief volunteers or developing leadership capabilities in promising youth. In his spare time, he enjoys surfing, hiking, and water skiing, and, for 15 years, he has annually hiked the Grand Tetons.
