Michele Samoggia, based in Rome, is active in Egon Zehnder’s Industrial, Consumer, Services, Public & Social Sector, and Communications & Public Affairs practices globally. Bringing extensive experience across energy, chemical, consumer, and public sectors, he has led complex stakeholder strategies in highly regulated environments, advising CEOs, government leaders, and institutional stakeholders. Michele is recognized for combining strategic thinking, strong execution, and a deeply human approach to leadership.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Michele spent nine years at Philip Morris Italy, most recently as Director of External Relations. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles in institutional affairs, communication, and sustainability at Enel and BASF, and served as Advisor to the Italian Minister of Economic Development and Infrastructure. He also served as President of the Erion Care consortium, and was a board member of UNICEF Italy for six years. He began his career working with international organizations and NGOs, including FAO.
Michele holds an Executive MBA from Bocconi University, an MSc in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics, and a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Political Science from Roma Tre University. Outside of work, Michele enjoys trekking, traveling, reading, cheering for his team, and spending time with his family and friends.
