Based in Munich, Alexander Gaus is active in Egon Zehnder’s Consumer Products, Technology & Communications, and Leadership Advisory practices, drawing on his deep industry experience to support mainly family-owned businesses across the retail, e-commerce, digital, and technology sectors. He is passionate about coaching and developing people to bring out the best in them.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, Alexander served as the Executive Vice President for Strategy at ProSiebenSat.1 Media, focusing on developing new business, digitalization, and increasing operational efficiency. Prior to that he was with Amazon as the Head of Beauty and Luxury Beauty for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. That was preceded by a stint at the Otto Group in Hamburg as the Head of Corporate Strategy in charge of strategy, M&A, and e-commerce projects. Earlier, Alexander started his career as a Senior Consultant at Roland Berger in Berlin, specializing in the consumer goods industry.

Alexander earned the Master of Science in Management, Diplom-Kaufmann, and Diplôme de Grande École degrees from ESCP Europe while studying in London, Berlin and Paris. When not working, he enjoys traveling, sharing good food and wine with family and friends, golfing, skiing, and listening to his collection of vinyl LPs.

Bis zu seinem Wechsel zu Egon Zehnder war Alexander Gaus Executive Vice President Strategy bei ProSiebenSat.1 Media mit den Schwerpunkten strategische Geschäftsfeldentwicklung, Digitalisierung und Steigerung der betrieblichen Effizienz. Davor führte er bei Amazon die Produktsparten Beauty und Luxury Beauty in der DACH-Region. Vor seiner Tätigkeit bei Amazon war Alexander Gaus beim Otto-Konzern in Hamburg in der Rolle des Head of Corporate Strategy verantwortlich für verschiedene Projekte in den Bereichen Strategie, M&A und E-Commerce. Zu Beginn seiner Karriere war er leitender Berater mit einer Spezialisierung auf Konsumgüter bei Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in Berlin.

Alexander Gaus studierte Betriebswirtschaft an der ESCP Europe in London, Paris und Berlin und erwarb die akademischen Grade Master of Science in Management, Diplom-Kaufmann und Diplôme de Grande École.
