Birgit Storz, based in Frankfurt, leads Egon Zehnder’s FinTech segment in Germany and is active in the firm’s Financial Services Practice. She applies her experience as a company founder, early-stage venture capitalist, and bank executive to help clients manage transformation processes and growth phases. Birgit is particularly skilled at attracting innovation- and entrepreneurial-minded leaders and building bridges between start-ups and established financial services companies.

I’m energized by working closely with leaders who are passionate about shaping the future of the financial services industry. Helping them bring together the right ingredients for innovating and growing their business is highly motivating.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Birgit spent more than 12 years in various senior positions at major banks, including heading Commerzbank’s Corporate Banking Strategy and Resource Management divisions. She also set up a company builder and early-stage venture capital firm, managed the postmerger integration of Commerzbank and Dresdner Bank in Central and Eastern Europe, and headed the new strategy and business development divisions while sitting on several supervisory boards. Earlier, Birgit held management roles in retail banking, private banking, and assurbanking at Dresdner Bank in Europe and Asia. She began her career in the Inhouse Consulting Group of Deutsche Bank.

Birgit earned degrees in business administration from the University of Applied Sciences in Regensburg, Germany, and the La Rochelle Business School, in France. She is very devoted to her family, enjoys outdoor sports, and supports social entrepreneurship.

Birgit Storz ist Co-Leiterin der Egon Zehnder Praxisgruppe Financial Services und koordiniert die FinTech-Aktivitäten. Auch aufgrund ihrer Erfahrung als Unternehmensgründerin, Early-Stage-Venture-Capital-Investorin und langjährige Führungskraft in etablierten Banken versteht sie, welche Führungspersönlichkeiten in einem zunehmend dynamisierten Umfeld einen Unterschied machen und Innovations- und Transformationsprozesse treiben können.

Bevor sie zu Egon Zehnder kam, arbeitete sie mehr als zwölf Jahre in verschiedenen Führungspositionen renommierter Banken. Zuletzt verantwortete sie mit dem Bereich Segment Management & Development die Strategie, die Steuerungs- und kapitalmarktnahen Funktionen sowie die Operationseinheiten der Commerzbank AG im Firmenkundensegment. Parallel dazu gründete und leitete sie die Main Incubator GmbH, den ersten Inkubator und Early-Stage-Venture-Capital-Arm einer etablierten Großbank in Europa. Davor verantwortete sie die Strategie und Geschäftsentwicklung im Segment Zentral- und Osteuropa und saß im Aufsichtsrat mehrerer Banken in der Region. Vor ihrer Zeit bei der Commerzbank AG war Birgit Storz in verschiedenen Managementpositionen der Dresdner Bank in Europa und Asien tätig. Ihre Karriere startete sie im Inhouse Consulting der Deutsche Bank AG.

Birgit Storz schloss ihr Studium der Betriebswirtschaftslehre in Regensburg und La Rochelle mit einem Doppeldiplom ab.
