Based in London, Jorge Mascarenhas is active in Egon Zehnder’s Technology and Communications Practice with a specialization in media and telecommunications. He has particular expertise in customer experience, consumer marketing, and engagement, and helps recruit and develop chief technology and information officers for B2C businesses in social media, hospitality, and consumer services. Having worked for a family-run business, Jorge is especially passionate about the impact of leadership and board dynamics on the culture and performance of small and family enterprises.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, Jorge spent several years as the Head of Customer Experience at O2 — Telefonica UK, in London. That was preceded by a stint at the Amsterdam office of Norwegian hydropower company Statkraft. Earlier in his career, Jorge served as Executive Director at Climex in Lisbon.
Jorge earned a BA in economics from the Nova School of Business and Economics, in Lisbon, and an MSc in finance from the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) before going on to complete an MBA at the University of Cambridge. He is an active blogger and public speaker on issues related to the customer experience, focusing on the roles of leadership and culture in transforming employee sentiment and customer engagement. Outside of work, he is an avid reader and traveler, and also passionate about martial arts, having achieved a black belt in karate and practiced kickboxing and Krav Maga.
