Christoph von Gagern, based in Munich, heads Egon Zehnder’s Munich office and leads the Professional Services sector globally. He has a particular focus on supporting Professional Services firms in developing and growing their Partner and senior leadership teams. Furthermore, Christoph is a trusted advisor in the travel & hospitality sector as well as for consumer goods companies, helping them to find and develop senior leaders as well as to develop leadership teams.
Enabling companies and individuals to succeed by building strong leadership teams and platforms for fulfilling careers has always been a key motivation in my professional life, in which I fully engage with all of my expertise and passion.
Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Christoph was a principal at the Boston Consulting Group in Munich. His work there included supporting private equity funds in creating value and advising multinational clients in the apparel and tourism sectors on strategy, M&A, sales and marketing, and operational efficiency. Christoph managed projects across Europe, the U.S. and Asia and also served as BCG’s Recruiting Director in Germany and Austria for several years.
Christoph earned a diploma in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt while spending a semester abroad at the Universidad Católica de Valparaíso in Chile. Outside work, he enjoys spending time in the mountains or on the water with his wife and three sons.

Er verfügt über eine besondere Expertise in der Beratung von Professional-Services-Unternehmen bei der Entwicklung und dem Ausbau ihrer Partner- und Führungsteams. Ein weiterer Fokus seiner Arbeit liegt auf der Reise- und Tourismusbranche sowie auf Konsumgüterunternehmen, die er bei der Identifikation und Entwicklung von Führungspersönlichkeiten sowie bei der Teamentwicklung begleitet.
Vor seinem Wechsel zu Egon Zehnder war Christoph von Gagern Principal bei der Boston Consulting Group in München. Dort beriet er Private Equity Fonds sowie internationale Konzerne in den Bereichen Fashion und Tourismus zu Themen wie Strategie, M&A, Marketing, Vertrieb und operative Exzellenz. Er leitete Projekte in Europa, den USA und Asien und war zudem mehrere Jahre als Recruiting Director für Deutschland und Österreich verantwortlich.
Christoph von Gagern hat an der Katholischen Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt Betriebswirtschaft studiert und ein Auslandssemester an der Universidad Católica de Valparaíso in Chile absolviert. In seiner Freizeit ist er gerne mit seiner Frau und seinen drei Söhnen in den Bergen oder auf dem Wasser unterwegs.
