Ayaka Shiroma, based in Tokyo, is a consultant at Egon Zehnder’s Industrial, Services, and Technology & AI Practice Groups. She focuses on CEO successions, executive assessment, and leadership appraisal and development initiatives. Drawing on more than a decade of consulting experience, majorly in manufacturing and telecommunications, Ayaka brings substantial expertise in operational improvement and organizational development, with a strong commitment to advancing inclusive leadership and diversity.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Ayaka was a consultant at McKinsey & Company in Tokyo, where she contributed in enabling enterprise-wide transformation and strategy initiatives for manufacturing, logistics, and telecommunications clients. Earlier in her career, she worked at Japanese consulting firms, driving end-to-end business transformation programs. She began her career as an infrastructure engineer and corporate sales professional at NTT West.
Ayaka holds an MBA from Hitotsubashi University Business School (ICS) and a Bachelor of Laws from Hitotsubashi University. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two sons and supports Waffle, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls in technology and advancing gender equity.
