Based in Bogotá, Laura Rey Pizano is active in Egon Zehnder’s Private Capital and Infrastructure practices as well as in the firm’s Legal, Regulatory & Compliance Professionals practice She is a trusted advisor to clients, drawing on her deep infrastructure knowledge and extensive experience working for and at international private equity funds, investment banks and local and multinational law firms. Laura’s expertise spans private equity and impact investing, ESG, diversity and inclusion, infrastructure, structured and cross-border financing, capital markets, investor relations, and corporate governance.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, Laura was at CAF Asset Management (CAF-AM) and Ashmore CAF as their Legal VP and Head of Corporate Governance. That was preceded by the role of Senior Associate specializing in infrastructure, banking, and finance at the law firm of Philippi, Prietocarrizosa, Ferrero, DU & Uría. Prior to that, Laura worked as a senior lawyer at Bancolombia and foreign associate at Clifford Chance.
Laura earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B., cum laude) and a postgraduate degree in financial regulation from the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Columbia University. Outside work, her hobbies are scuba diving, yoga and horseback riding and she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and young son. Laura also finds time to support the local health system by sitting on boards of directors and auditing committees. She has authored and coauthored a number of publications on infrastructure and pertinent legislation.
