Kenichi Iwata leads Egon Zehnder’s Tokyo Office while working as a member of the Firm’s Private Capital, Service and Board Consulting practices. He is a trusted advisor on Japanese talent strategy to clients in the fields of private equity, industrial companies, trading & investment conglomerates, and retail. In addition to executive search, Kenichi performs management appraisals and provides advice on corporate governance and leadership development.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, Kenichi was a Director responsible for deal sourcing at Advantage Partners LLP, one of the largest private equity firms in Japan. That was preceded by the role of Principal with Boston Consulting Group, where he worked with clients in technology and communications, health care and general trading. Kenichi began his career at ITOCHU Corporation, one of Japan’s largest general trading houses, focusing on precious metals and jewelry and the commodity fund business.
Kenichi earned a BS in engineering from the University of Tokyo and an MBA from the University of Michigan. Outside of work, he is passionate about traveling internationally, reading, watching movies, and visiting art museums all over the world. He and his wife have one daughter.

エゴンゼンダー入社前は、プライベートエクイティのアドバンテッジパートナーズで案件開拓責任者を務めた。それ以前は、戦略コンサルティングファームのボストンコンサルティンググループにて、プリンシパルとして通信、産業財、ライフサイエンス、商社などの業界を対象にターンアラウンド、PMI、事業ポートフォリオ戦略などのコンサルティングに従事。学卒後は、伊藤忠商事に入社、貴金属ディーリング、貴金属地金営業、商品ファンドの組成・販売に従事した経験を持つ。
東京大学 工学部を卒業、ミシガン大学経営大学院にてMBA（経営学修士）を取得。
