Situation
In the midst of the digital transformation sweeping through the world of health is a $25 billion wireless technology giant. This company’s platforms will power a future in which consumers are seamlessly connected with doctors, medical device companies, and any other individual or organization in the health and wellness spectrum. Increased connectivity between consumers and healthcare providers will have a profound impact on improving care while eliminating many kinds of costly office visits and hospital stays. The company’s leadership team was looking for an experienced Vice President of Operations to integrate the activities of this rapidly growing business unit with the organization’s established engineering and customer service teams as well as its trusted outside partners.

Approach
Our global health team leveraged its deep knowledge of medical technology and partnered with colleagues outside our group who have extensive experience in enterprise software. It was essential to find executives with a track record of leading large organizations, and it was also critical to find candidates who understood the hurdles unique to medical technology. Outcome
Having met executives from both the medical technology and enterprise software sectors, our client became increasingly convinced that it needed someone with industry experience. The eventual hire had a career with some of the most respected names in healthcare, including a medical technology company that offers innovative software solutions for hospital problems like medication management and infection control. The new leader also brought extensive experience with customer service, operations, and consumer marketing, providing an excellent foundation for our client’s rapidly growing business unit.
