Caspar von Blomberg, based in Munich, leads Egon Zehnder’s Public and Social Sector Practice in Germany. He is a leadership advisor to governments, state-owned enterprises, international organizations, associations, NGOs and charities. With his deep expertise in sustainability and ESG leadership and governance, he also advises corporate Boards and ExCos on appointments on executive and non-executive level. Beyond this, he has comprehensive experience with CFOs and finance managers in large corporates, family-owned businesses and Private Equity portfolio companies as well as with top leadership requirements in Banking.

Life is too complex to be looked at from only one angle. What keeps me ticking every day is helping leaders navigate the jungle and discover and unleash the talent in themselves and others.

Before joining Egon Zehnder’s team, Caspar was Managing Director of the CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), which works with shareholders and companies to develop and drive sustainable business models and practices. Earlier, he led corporate strategy departments at Allianz, Dresdner Bank, and AXA, and advised multinational clients on corporate finance and M&A transactions. Caspar began his career as a credit analyst at Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt.

Caspar earned an M.A. in modern history, American studies, and drama from the University of Munich and an M.Sc. (econ) in International Relations from the London School of Economics. He co-founded the Fundación Arco Iris, which strives to improve the situation of street children and marginalized young people in La Paz, Bolivia.

Caspar von Blomberg leitet die Praxisgruppe Öffentlicher & Sozialer Sektor bei Egon Zehnder. In diesem Rahmen berät er Regierungen, Staatsunternehmen, internationale Organisationen, NGOs und Stiftungen bei der Besetzung und Entwicklung von Top-Führungspersonal. Daneben hat er langjährige Erfahrung im Sustainability und ESG Management und berät Aufsichtsräte und Vorstände in Fragen der ESG Governance. Caspar von Blomberg verfügt darüber hinaus über spezielle Expertise bei der Besetzung von CFO- und Finanzmanager:innen-Positionen sowie in der Beratung von Banken und Finanzdienstleistern.

Bis zu seinem Wechsel zu Egon Zehnder baute Caspar von Blomberg als Geschäftsführer die Aktivitäten des Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) in Deutschland und Kontinentaleuropa auf. Davor leitete er Strategieabteilungen bei der Allianz, der Dresdner Bank und der AXA. Seine Karriere begann Caspar von Blomberg als Credit Analyst bei der Deutschen Bank in Frankfurt, wo er später auch in der Abteilung für Konzernentwicklung und in der Corporate-Finance-Beratung für multinationale Unternehmen tätig war.

Caspar von Blomberg studierte Geschichte, Amerikanistik und Theaterwissenschaften an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München sowie Internationale Beziehungen an der London School of Economics.

Er ist Mitbegründer der Arco Iris Stiftung, einer Organisation zur Förderung von Straßenkindern im bolivianischen La Paz, wo er 2003 als Freiwilliger arbeitete.
