Based in Brussels, Karsten De Clerck until recently lead Egon Zehnder’s offices in Belgium and Luxembourg and is active across the firm’s, Board Consulting, CEO, and multiple industry practices. Drawing on more than 25 years of experience, he provides advice on C-suite and board-level leadership to our clients.

Before joining Egon Zehnder in 1995, Karsten held a variety of sales and marketing leadership roles at Callebaut International, the world’s leading chocolate producer, last as its Sales and Marketing Director for the U.K. and Ireland. He began his career as an Associate with McKinsey & Company in Brussels and Paris.
Karsten earned a master’s in commercial engineering from the Solvay School of Economics and Management of the Free University of Brussels and an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. He is an honorary president of the INSEAD Alumni Association of Belgium. Multilingual (English, French, Dutch, and German) with an international background and outlook, Karsten has been elected Chairman of the Free University of Brussels (VUB) in 2019 and equally is a member of the university hospital governing board.
