Carsten aspires to help companies and their leaders to use their full potential while maintaining a healthy balance between short-term success and transformational leadership. Based in Hamburg, Carsten leads global executive searches in the Chemical and Health industries. He also frequently advises clients on organizational design and strategic innovation, growth and change programs. Carsten has particular expertise in China and M&A situations. He co-leads Egon Zehnder’s diversity and inclusion initiatives. Carsten has been designated as a fellow of the Institue of Coaching at Harvard for his deep development work with clients.

I am deeply passionate about the international character, the substance, and the leaders of the chemical industry! Looking to the future, I am excited about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for ‘our’ industry.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, he was Sales Director for Asia Pacific with BASF at the East Asia regional headquarters in Hong Kong. Carsten was Chief of Staff to BASF’s Chief Financial Officer in Germany. He began his professional career in accounting and corporate finance roles at BASF and prior to that was an Academic Assistant at the University of Göttingen’s Department of Accounting and Industrial Management.

Carsten has an MA and a PhD in business administration from the University of Göttingen. He was a Research Fellow and Visiting Teacher in Corporate Finance at San Diego State University in the U.S. In addition to his passion for Asia, Carsten practices yoga, bikes to work and enjoys playing and watching soccer with his wife and children.

Carsten Wundrack arbeitet bei Egon Zehnder hauptsächlich für Unternehmen der Chemieindustrie und unterstützt diese bei der Besetzung von Führungspositionen im In- und Ausland. Außerdem leitet er Talentmanagement- und Organisationsprojekte in diesem Sektor. Aufgrund seiner Erfahrung im chinesischen Markt unterstützt er Klienten, die sich im asiatischen Raum engagieren. Carsten Wundrack beschäftigt sich mit vielfältigen Facetten zum Thema Führung sowie der Zusammensetzung und Effektivität von Führungsteams und Aufsichtsgremien. Er ist jüngst als Fellow am Institut of Coaching in Harvard benannt worden.

Bevor er zu Egon Zehnder kam, war Carsten Wundrack bei der BASF Vertriebsleiter für die Region Asien-Pazifik mit Standort in Hongkong. Zuvor hatte er als Assistent des Finanzvorstands der BASF Gruppe gearbeitet. Er begann seine berufliche Laufbahn in der Finanzabteilung von BASF, wo er verschiedene Positionen bekleidete. Während seines Studiums an der Universität Göttingen arbeitete er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Institut für Rechnungs- und Prüfungswesen sowie Industriebetriebslehre.

Carsten Wundrack studierte Betriebswirtschaftslehre an der Universität Göttingen, wo er auch promovierte. Auf Einladung der San Diego State University verbrachte er anschließend ein Jahr als Research Fellow in den USA.
