Carsten Wundrack works to make the companies he advises and the world a better place. Based in Hamburg, Carsten leads global executive searches in the chemical, mining, and medical device industries. He also frequently advises clients on organizational design, change programs, and transformational leadership development. Carsten has particular expertise in China and the Sino-German axis, including inbound and outbound M&A.
I am deeply passionate about the international character, substance, and leaders of the chemical industry and I am excited about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
Before joining Egon Zehnder, he was Sales Director for Asia Pacific with BASF at the East Asia regional headquarters in Hong Kong. Carsten was also Chief of Staff to BASF’s Chief Financial Officer in Germany. He began his professional career in accounting and corporate finance roles in BASF’s finance department and has been an Academic Assistant at the University of Göttingen’s Department of Accounting and Industrial Management.
Carsten has an MA and PhD in business administration from University of Göttingen. He was a Research Fellow and Visiting Teacher in Corporate Finance at San Diego State University in the U.S. In addition to his passion for Asia, Carsten practices yoga, bikes to work and enjoys playing and watching soccer with his wife and children.
