Carsten Wundrack, based in Hamburg, leads Egon Zehnder’s Industrial Practice in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and is active in the CEO Succession and the Diversity Practices. He has particularly deep experience advising clients from the chemical industry on executive search, leadership succession, organizational design as well as on transformational change programs. He also engages in projects for the broader industrial sector and ventures frequently out in neighboring fields, such as the consumer or life science. Carsten has been designated as a fellow of the Institute of Coaching at Harvard for his deep development work with executives, executive teams and boards.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, Carsten was Sales Director for Asia Pacific with BASF at the East Asia regional headquarters in Hong Kong. He was Chief of Staff to BASF’s Chief Financial Officer in Germany. He began his professional career in accounting and corporate finance roles at BASF and prior to that was an Academic Assistant at the University of Göttingen’s Department of Accounting and Industrial Management.

Carsten earned an MA and a PhD in business administration from the University of Göttingen, Germany. He was a Research Fellow and Visiting Teacher in Corporate Finance at San Diego State University in the US. In addition to his passion for Asia, Carsten practices yoga, bikes to work and enjoys playing and watching soccer.

Carsten Wundrack leitet die Industrial Praxisgruppe in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz und ist aktives Mitglied der internationalen CEO sowie der Diversity Praxisgruppen. Er hat tiefgreifende Erfahrung in der Beratung von Unternehmen der Chemieindustrie und unterstützt diese bei der Besetzung von Führungspositionen im In- und Ausland. Mit Management Teams und Aufsichtsgremien arbeitet er an Transformations- und Veränderungsprogrammen. Es ist Carsten Wundrack ein Anliegen, die Stärken unterschiedlicher Industriezweige zu verbinden, weshalb er auch mit seinen Kollegen in verschiedenen Branchen arbeitet. Aufgrund seiner Development-Arbeit mit Führungskräften, Führungsteams und Aufsichtsgremien wurde er jüngst am Institute of Coaching der McLean/Harvard Medical School als Fellow benannt.

Bevor er zu Egon Zehnder kam, war Carsten Wundrack bei der BASF Vertriebsleiter für die Region Asien-Pazifik mit Standort Hongkong. Zuvor arbeitete er als Assistent des Finanzvorstands der BASF-Gruppe. Er begann seine berufliche Laufbahn in der Finanzabteilung der BASF, wo er verschiedene Positionen bekleidete.

Carsten Wundrack studierte Betriebswirtschaftslehre an der Universität Göttingen und arbeitete dort während seiner Promotion als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Institut für Rechnungs- und Prüfungswesen sowie Industriebetriebslehre. Auf Einladung der San Diego State University verbrachte er ein Jahr als Research Fellow in den USA.
