Xuemei Bennink-Bai is a trusted advisor on executive search and recruitment, succession planning, and management assessment. She frequently counsels Chinese and global corporations on leadership development strategies. Based in Shanghai, Xuemei leads Egon Zehnder’s Consumer Practice in the Greater China region and co-leads the firm’s global Consumer Product Practice Group. She is also active in Egon Zehnder’s global CEO and Board Consulting Practices.


A deeply experienced international executive, Xuemei began her career in the UK with Unilever, where she worked in sales and general management, progressing to become Vice President of Unilever China. Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Xuemei was on the Executive Board of Rentokil Initial plc, a $4bn facilities management and services company headquartered in the UK. While based in Singapore and London, Xuemei ran operations in 15 Asia Pacific countries and built the Group Marketing and Innovation Function.

Xuemei earned a PhD in Heat Transfer at the University of Cambridge and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering at Huazhong University of Science & Technology, in China.
