Forrest Chen is an active member of Egon Zehnder’s Industrial Practice. Based in Beijing, he leverages his more than 20 years’ experience in strategy, M&A, sales & marketing, supply chain, and change management to lead executive search, leadership assessment, development and advisory projects for MNCs, SOEs and private clients across a variety of sectors.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Forrest held various executive positions at GE (formerly Alstom Power) in China, Singapore and Switzerland. Most recently he served as China General Manager of GE Additive after being the GM for Strategic Marketing at Power Services. Before that, Forrest was with GE Power’s Steam Power Systems division as Head of Global Sales Operations. Earlier, he was responsible for sales & tendering at Alstom Renewables’ Solar Business division and then for strategy and external growth (M&A) at GE Power. . That was preceded by several years at the Boston Consulting Group supporting clients across a variety of sectors, during which Forrest advanced to become a Principal. He began his career as a Finance Manager with British American Tobacco and a Financial Controller for the Bestseller Fashion Group in China.
Forrest earned a BA in International Finance from Fudan University in China and an MBA from the Tepper School of Business of Carnegie Mellon University. Later he attended an advanced management seminar at INSEAD. When not working, Forrest enjoys spending time with his wife, engaging in outdoor activities including marathon races, scuba diving and paragliding, traveling and reading. He has also supported Save the Children in China as a pro bono consultant.
