Wolfhart Pentz



Wolfhart Pentz, based in Berlin, is Director of Egon Zehnder’s Leadership Solutions team in Germany and is deeply experienced in leadership coaching and development, organization design, capability building, and cultural transformation. He provides a full range of services including leadership development, talent strategy consulting, management appraisals, and team effectiveness consulting. Wolfhart has been designated as a Fellow of the Institute of Coaching for his deep development work with clients.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Wolfhart was a Senior Expert with McKinsey & Company, based in Berlin, serving as a member of the Mindsets & Capabilities practice and of the McKinsey Center for Asian Leadership (MCAL). With McKinsey, Wolfhart served clients across a wide range of industries including telecom, financial services, high tech, automotive, pharma, manufacturing, and chemicals. Projects included developing management teams (individual and team coaching, team building); design and delivery of large cultural transformation programs; conducting leadership skill assessments for managers in Europe and Asia; and conducting “Top-Team Alignment” workshops for strategy implementation.

Wolfhart earned a PhD in social history from Humboldt University Berlin, a Master in Public Administration from Harvard, and a Master in Religious Studies and Philosophy at Free University of Berlin. He is certified for MBTI, Hogan, and EQIi instruments.

Wolfhart Pentz leitet die Praxisgruppe Leadership Services in Deutschland und konzentriert sich auf die Entwicklung von Führungskräften und die Transformation von Organisationen. Er berät Klienten in allen Fragen eines nachhaltigen Talentmanagements für Führungspersönlichkeiten, evaluiert Manager im Rahmen von Management Appraisals und erstellt Entwicklungspläne für Topmanager und Führungsteams.

Vor seinem Wechsel zu Egon Zehnder war Wolfhart Pentz als Senior Expert bei McKinsey & Company in der Praxisgruppe Mindsets & Capabilities und beim Center for Asian Leadership (MCAL) tätig. Während seiner Zeit bei McKinsey zählten Unternehmen der verschiedensten Branchen zu seinen Klienten. Er leitete Projekte zur Entwicklung von Management Teams (individuelles und Team-Coaching; Team Building), entwickelte umfangreiche Cultural Transformation-Programme und führte Leadership Skill Assessments für Manager in Europa und Asien sowie "Top-Team Alignment“-Workshops für die Umsetzung von Strategien durch.

Wolfhart Pentz studierte und promovierte (Dr. phil.) an der Humboldt Universität Berlin und erwarb einen Master of Public Administration in Harvard. An der Freien Universität Berlin schloss er das Studium der Religionswissenschaften und Philosophie mit einem Magister ab. Er ist zertifiziert für die Assessment-Tools MBTI, Hogan und EQIi. Wolfhart Pentz ist Fellow des Insitute of Coaching.
