Gabi Carvalho, Egon Zehnder’s office leader in Miami, heads the Global Retail Financial Services Practice, focusing on payments, retail banking, insurance, and asset management. Gabi has particular experience in CEO succession, management assessment, and development and board effectiveness.
I believe in a holistic approach to succession that looks both inside and outside of the organization and proactively develops internal talent. This is the best way to ensure an organization is engaged and successful now and in the future.
Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Gabi was a Vice President at American Express, responsible for growing the Amex franchise business across Latin America. Previously, she worked in strategic planning and led acquisition and bank partnerships for the Amex International Dollar Card business. She began her career at Citibank and JP Morgan.
Gabi has a BS from Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She was selected for the Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society’s Rising Talent Program. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her daughters and husband, meditating, running, and pro bono consulting to nonprofits.
