Hideaki Tsukuda is Egon Zehnder's Partner in Tokyo. He is a trusted advisor to CEOs of leading Japanese companies and is closely connected to top executives in major financial institutions. He is the leader of Corporate Governance and CEO practice group, and is active in Board Consulting (including Board Effectiveness Review), Succession Planning of CEO, Executive Assessment and Development, Non-executive search in wide range of industries. He is a member of “the Council of Experts Concerning the Follow-up of Japan’s Stewardship Code and Japan’s Corporate Governance Code”, jointly established by Financial Services Agency (FSA) and Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE).


Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Hideaki was a Consultant at McLagan Partners Asia, Inc., in Tokyo, where he advised financial institutions on human resources. Previously, he was a Senior Manager of Human Resources as well as Manager of the International Division at the Sanwa Bank, Ltd. The company sponsored Hideaki's education in the U.S.

Hideaki has a BA in law from Tokyo University and an MSc in management from MIT's Sloan School of Management. He is a committee member of the government of Japan, where he offers expertise on corporate governance and is a frequent contributor to major Japanese media. Outside of work, he plays the viola in an orchestra and enjoys spending time in nature with his wife and son.
